Raccoon

The raccoon belongs to the Procyonidae family.

They have brown and grey fur with either black or reddish tail. They have black around the eyes 
They use their paws and fingers to scavenge on anything they can find. They mainly hunt frogs, mice, insects, fruit, plants and fish. They have quick reflexes which means than can quickly grab a fish. 

They are close relative of the pandas. 

They are found in marshes, urban areas, forests and prairies. They are active at night.
They have make dens in hollow tree trunk or caves. They are able to climb trees very well. They can run at fifteen miles per hour and are also good swimmers.  

The females have around seven cubs during the summer months, for the first two months are fully dependant on the mother. 

They are seen as pests as they go through rubbish bags in the hunt for food.
