Ibis Eudocimus albus 

The ibis belongs to the Threskiornithidae family. 


They are white all over, with pink bill and legs. They have long legs to allow them to wade through water in the search for food. 

They eat insects, crustaceans and fish. They hunt by foraging and moving their heads side to side with the bill in the water, one food is detected the bill is snapped shut. 

The ibis are able to breed at two years of age. The male during courtship looks up at the sky and to the ground, cleans himself and collecting sticks. The nests are located in the mangroves, and the male and the female have constructed the nest.

The female lays around five eggs which need to be incubated for twenty one days by the male and the female. The male and female also feed  the young by regurgitation. They can fly a little bit by five weeks and at seven weeks they have to leave the nest.
