Hickory Tussock caterpillar

The Hickory Tussock caterpillar  belong to the 
Arctiidae family. 


They small caterpillars (five centimetres), with white and fluffy hairs, with a black head. 

They are found in dense woodlands, wetlands and swamps. 

The male and female mate in the spring. The female can lay anything from hundred to fifty onto leaves, majority of the time the nut trees.
